Does anyone know a good source for rubber seals (U-Cups and O-Rings)? I bought a remanufactured hydrovac unit for my truck 2 years ago and it's wasted already. They didn't polish the bores and rods, just left the hone finish on them. Baum has the right sizes but can't supply them in the right material. Allorings has the right material but can't supply them in the right sizes. Try to buy a kit for a hydrovac at NAPA or the truck parts store and they look at you like you're from Mars. The parts I need are standard sizes but must be EPDM rubber. Regular Buna-N won't stand up to brake fluid. |

| If Midland brand, one of most popular, you have to send it in to rebuild. They will not sell kits, I have tried. They made brakes for less than ten years, all manufacturers used them, and now quit and only rebuild. Quite a racket really! Napa is supposed to have quite a source for some boosters. Look on Napa web site. You need some model numbers and such. Some kits are available too. You need to talk to another Napa I think. I too believe it's quite a weird/odd item to repair and find help on, not sure what the deal is. I was told you need special equip to test and set-up right off truck so no one knows that procedure? |

| Thanks G.L. It's a Bendix Hydrovac from an IH Loadstar truck. After my last experience I wouldn't want to rely on another remanufactured unit. The brakes are real important on heavy trucks. I have it apart and don't find anything weird about it, there's nothing to set up and no adjustments to make. It just needs good seals and a better surface polish than the re-man gives you. I think I found a source for the kit. I ordered one and will have to wait and see if it's right. John |

| I'm going thru the same problems on an old motorhome with a Dodge chassis with the twin hydrovacs. Did you find a source for the repair kits? |
