Check the soldered attachment point where the ground wire under the distributor base plate attaches to the distributor housing. This can vibrate loose or break, causing a miss or the engine to quit. This happened on a 70 Maverick with the 200CI-6 I had. Re-soldering the ground wire solved the problem.
