found a 65 dodge with slant 6 how hard would it be to get unstuck or swap with 318.

How bad is it stuck? Sometimes you can get them unstuck. It would be easier to put another slant six in it. A 318 requires you to change the mounts on the crossmember ( welding required ), wire harness is different but you could make the one from the six work. Transmission needs to be changed if auto or bell housing must be changed if standard. You would have to look at rad hose connections too. Six rads are different than 8's.

And the accelerator linkage, and exhaust pipe, and the list goes on. Pull the plugs on the six, squirt the holes full of your favorite penetrant, and wait. How does the oil look? Have you pulled the oil pan drain plug, to see if there is sludge or water in there? Has the hood been up for months? years? air cleaner been on or off?
