Hi, I think I'm about to put my old pickup out to pasture. Anyone have an idea of what it's worth? The body's rough from 35 years of hard living, but it's mechanically in pretty good shape. 350 v-8, 4 speed, interior fairly beat but it runs well. Located in California so the only rust is below the battery. I was thinking $3750 obo. Any opinions? Thanks,Ray

Seems a bit high to me but... It's basically worth whatever you can get someone to give you. Rust free is good but you say it's rough so depends on how bad it's banged up. Lots of dents not much better than lots of rust. I'd think probaly $2,500 probably about tops though.

Thanks Big Bill, you're right, it's worth what someone will pay for it. No big dents, just lots of scrapes from hard living. I'm thinking of giving it a primer coat, even though it makes the truck look like I'm trying to hide something. At least the scrapes would be a uniform color then.

That makes a big difference. I probably wouldn't primer it - don't think it'd get you more $$. Just raise suspition as you said. Who knows a rust free '71 that not dented up bad isn't easy to find - of course, I'm in PA too so there haven't been any here for about 25yrs ! :)
