My 1969 F600 dump has the sodium valve 361 with the original Holley 2 barrel. I'm rebuilding the engine and would like to convert it to a 4 barrel (preferebly another Holly). I'd also like to know if there is any aftermarket performance parts for this engine. Can anyone help?

Mike my email is jkspicerandson@netzero.net, I live in South Lebanon, Ohio. If you think you can help but want to know more, the truck has no a/c, single dually axle, and has either a Muncie or Spicer 4 spd overdrive & 2 speed rear. It's the short wheelbase model with pretty much no factory options. thanks for the help--email me

If you can't find a 4 barrel intake for a 361, then go buy an adaptor to go from a 2 barrel intake to a 4 barrel carb.
I know in Ford SVO catalogs in the past they would list engine size/engine families. Families as in: 255 260 289 302 351w. Or go to google and type in "Ford 361 engine family" and see what you can find out.

I think you will find your answer if you can answer this question - does a 390 intake fit on a 361? I personally don't know, but if it does there a a lot of old 4 barrel intakes for 390s. I goes my question is why? Adding a 4 barrel intake and carb on an F600 is only going to add minimal power (without cam and head modifications) and cut your mileage down even farther (like from 9 to 6 MPG).

I dunno if I agree with that. He'll be running on the primaries almost all the time, so I don't see how it'd ruin his mileage. I'd agree, though, that it isn't gonna help his performance except maybe pulling up hills with a load. For maximum low-rpm power, I think I'd stick with the 2-barrel.

hi if your wanting to go with a 4barl it has to be from a 361 or 391 the 361 came with a 2barl and a 4 barl and all 391's were 4barls the 390 intakes will not work because of the exht that crosses different
