Hello! This truck is a former fire truck, with juice brakes,w/a hydra vac unit. The hydra vac has always been a problem on this truck,I've heard there is a master cylinder you can use to eliminate the hydra vac,but I can't find anyone who know's anything about this. Also thinking about disc brake conversion.Any thoughts or suggestions appreciated on these matters. THANKS , INDY.

If the Hydrovac isn't working, simply replace it with a rebuilt unit. In our little shop in a farming community, we've replaced 6 or 8 in the last couple of weeks, as people get ready for the small grains harvest.

Some people eliminate them by simply removing the inlet and outlet lines from the booster, and joining them with an inverted flair union. This does work, but I would in no way recommend doing this, because the brakes get awfull hard to apply, unless you've got a very strong leg!
