This engine is in a two ton dump truck. By the motor number it is a 241.3 cubic inch double rocker shaft and has the factory dual point distributor.

Short run I need to know point gap or dwell or both and ignition timing.

Any body with a lead on a shop manual at a reasonable price?

Thanks in advance for any help.

I have a 1955 Dodge p/u I am restoring. I am looking for rear fenders, exhaust manifold (right side) for a 241 or 249 v8 or information on street rods. How is your 1956 Dodge p/u coming? Thanks in advance

This is from a 1959 Motor manuel for cars. Point gap for each set -- .017 inches
Dewel --- 26 to 28 degrees each set 32 to 36 degrees for both.
Plug gap .035 inches.
Timing 4 degrees before top dead center
Timing mark is on front pulley.

A note about hemi engines. The aluminum spark plug tube IS the gasket for the plug. You need to remove the gasket which come on the spark plug.
I you ever need a fuel pump I built a spacer that will allow the use of the 273,318, 340, 360 LA small block pump on the 241 and other First Design Hemis.
Another point, If you convert to 12 volt negative ground electrics, the 318, 340, 360 electronic distributor will fit the 241 so you can convert to electronic ignition easily.
