59pup 01-06-2006 21:14:45 24.7.105.44 17781 Report to Moderator	hi i was wondering if anyone out there had any info on the frames of the 59 apache and the 60 c10 both are short wheel base frames/chassis. i want to place the 59 body on the 60 frame and then bolt on a later (1971-1973) front crossmember to the 60 frame. are the frames of the truck the same length? width? close enough? would it be a fairly simple swap? or would it be better to simply use a later(71-73) frame? im weighing out the ideas of this or subframing the truck. thanks for any info [Reply]  [Send Email]

I think the man had to relocate to cab mounts but the frame length is very close if not identical. Not sure about the crossmember bolt on but surely you could customize it any way you wish. I know the big mod on these are to eliminate the coil sprung rear and swap in a leaf sprung rear. I have a 60 Apache 4x4 and 65 2wd. The 60 is highly modified and not necessarily professionally but it does have a newer style crossmember in the frame for the motor to mount. I may have a whole running/driving 60 for sale soon if I can't find the confounded vin on the frame.   [Reply]  [Send Email]
