Neighbor rearended a dump truck with his pristine 1971 GMC 3/4 ton. Looking for a front clip or at least a driver's side front fender; hood; grill and, maybe an inner fender panel.

First question--does anybody have an interchange manual handy so we will know what Chev/GMC parts years interchange?

Second question, if you have the mentioned parts what will it take to get you to part with them.

TIA

GMC had the same fenders 1968-1972. They are the same as the 68 Chevys. 69-72 Chevy fenders are differant on the front. 69-72 hoods are the same for GMC or Chevy except for the emblems. GMC core supports and grills are GMC only. Inner panel are all the same.
New parts are available. LMC, H&H in AR, Golden State in CA, and a host of others have them.

The '67-'72 trucks were divided into three groups - '67 and '68, '69 and '70, and '71 and '72 appearance-wise. The 67s and 68s had a lower hood in front, different front fenders and no marker lights in '67. The hoods and front fenders for the '69-'72 trucks interchange, as the differences were in the grilles. Chevys are quite a bit more common than GMCs, so don't limit your parts search to GMC pickups, although the grille and front bumper will be GMC-specific. LMC has been mentioned and there are many other places that sell reproduction sheet metal for these old trucks. An EXCELLENT site for info on these trucks and a good place to ask about used parts is 67-72trucks.com. I actually have most of the pieces you'd need off of a '70 Chevy C10, but the shipping would probably be almost as much as new repro parts would be. Keep your eyes open all over, as there are TONS of those old trucks to be found yet.

The years for those trucks ran from 67-72. For new parts try looking at LMC Truck, I buy stuff from them for my 87 4x4. www.lmctruck.com

I remember someone saying the hood and fenders on a 67 and 68 were different than 69 thru 72. get one of those books or if you know a reputible body shop givem a call most are willing to let you know what years fit. also have them give you a price on the parts you need you may find it cheaper to buy new than to buy used and have excess labor fixing the used parts
