i am looking for a truck for every day use for light duty tasks such as haulin me 2 miles up to the store every week and maybee takein a bed full of yard wast e out back to ad to my collection of things i gotta take care of some day anyhow it has sum rust a few oil leaks but looks pretty good for an old truck im going to check it over some more tomarrow but was woundering if thair was anything i should be wathching out for like known places of excessive rust or rot. If this is a good truck or a bad year I just was wanting some opinions of this model, i havn't looked at it yet but assume it has a 302 in it. thanks for your time |

| The 67 through 72's were basically all the same. Basically they are good dependable trucks but they do tend to rust in the inner fenders and the kick panels inside the cab. |

| Rust is generally a problem in any older vehicle, and will be different from one to another depending on the conditions the vehicle has lived under. The early Ford pick ups had pretty strong rust in the inner fender areas. That may or may not bother you for what you are wanting the truck for. Check to see if there is rust to the degree that it is structurally weak any where. Brake line rust can be a danger for you. Will it pass inspection in your state? -----The 302 will probably be leaking at the real seal and at the valve covers. -----Probably you need to make a decision based on how much you really want the truck. Anything can be fixed if you are willing to put out the work and money. |
