I just installed a new (original reproduction) fuel gauge and a brand new sending unit in my truck. Everything is 12 volt. My problem is that when I turn on the ignition, the fuel needle "zaps" to the south (bottom side) of the gauge like I put a magnet to it. I've run a new wire from the sending unit, switched wires and tried a number of other things. Can anybody help me?Thanks, Gary Rose |

| Hi Grose, the "original reproduction" gas gage is made for 6 volt system so you will need a voltage reducer, hope the one you put in has not been fried by too many volts. HTH Dan |

| Dan: Thanks for your response. The gauge is actually a 12 volt. I wonder if I have it wired wrong. I have a wire from the gas tank sending unit to the gauge and the other pole on the sending unit goes to ground. I then have a wire from the ignition switch to the gauge, with a 7.5 amp in-line fuse in it. Any other ideas? Thanks, GRose |

| What are you using for ground , negative or positive ? Should be negative ground with 12 volt. |
