Now the 366/427 look identical, but the 366 usually had no exterior emblems. The 427 trucks had 427 embossed into the cold air inlet on the RH side of the hood. Hope this helps. So I respectfully disagree with you for now. Our 1970, C60 water truck was an EX...(City of Wichita Ks Garbage truck) 366,5-speed, single speed rearend. Our 1972, C60 with a 366, 5-speed, 2-speed rearend. Our 1974, C65 with a 366, 5-speed, 2-speed rearend with airbrakes. These three I can call off the top of my head. Another releative has a 72 C60, Trucktractor, 5-speed and 2-speed rearend, with airbrakes. I seeen numerious trucks at farm sales too so I know what to look for. I think what Wild Bill is missing is that this is a C 60 medium truck, The 402 big block was never installed in anything larger than a C30. The 366 and 427 high block truck engines were very common in those trucks,with the 366 being the "belly button" engine that most of them were equipped with.   [Reply]  [No Email]
