I've aquired a 47? Ford 1-1/2 ton. The doors are closed and/or locked shut.I tried an long brazing rod between the door and cab to nudge the door handle rearward hoping to pop the latch--no luck. Any suggestions? Also there is a model tag on the firewall but can only read Ford on it. Is there any other locations with serial #'s and model #'s? Appreciate any help.
Thanks

If all else fails, and before you bust out a window, you might try reaching the drivers side door handle thru the master cylinder access hole in the floor.

Serial # is located on top driver side frame rail in the area of the steering box. It is stamped into the frame. Another location is on the top of the bell housing, but if there has been an engine change that number is no longer valid.

Thanks Ralph
The more info I find out about this truck the more the more I learn. Haven't gotten to try opening the locks sliding down along the window yet
Thanks

Thanks old art---I think I'll try going down along side window and see if I can trip the lock cable(wire)? loose. I know the window glass has a metal enclosure on the sides and the top of the glass.

long timesince i worked on that modlr but here goes try going down along side the glass in door and trip the door key lock with wire. orr can you remove the rear window glass by carefully removeing the rubber seal . or still better can you get the door key lock retainer to pull out between the door and the body look at an older viechel to see what i mean LOL
