Dwell Reading

Is there a dwell reading for a 1952 chevy 216 and if so what would it be and relation to point gap? I set points at.022 and I get a dwell of 40
degrees, does this sound right? Thanks for any help.

That might be close, depending on the design of the dist cam lobe. An AMC 196 running .019 gap shows 36-42 dewll. Most newer chevys with a little steeper dist cam lobe run 31-34 dwell at .019 point gap.
