I just pulled a heater out of a 1946 Chevy pickup with a MW emblem on it. Does anyone know what brand MW might be?

If I"m remembering some of these heaters correctly, Monkey Wards used a kind of plain letter M directly over the W, often in an orange with the heater body a kind of crackle brown, and on ours the orange line (lines?) ran horizontally around the heater body.

Thanks for the guess but the M and W don't overlap. In fact they don't touch at all. They're just next to each other...

I'm still inclined to agree with Bob that it's Montg'y Ward...a Chev owner would be likely to go with a lower-price supplier, and Wards probably had different styles, depending on cost, or changed styles over the years ( both Sears and
Wards stuff was fully guaranteed and almost always good quality for the cost).
Sears put out a separate auto parts catalog (I've still got a couple!) but I'm not sure they did that far back; Wards may or may not, I can't recall.
All their catalogs are collectible, but I don't know how you'd find a collector who had one, or anyplace that has a file of them (the Montg'y Ward online company has no connection with the Dept store/catalog Wards--they just bought the name etc after the original went kaput!). Bud

Couldn't be "Montgomery-Ward", could it?

Monkey Ward DID sell auto accessories, including heaters, "back in the day".
