Tony W said: (quoted from post at 05:53:20 07/19/09) Hello folks, I have a 52 Chevy grain truck (I think it is a 2 ton) that I will be restoring after the load of wheat is off, and looking for a great place to get info about this truck. Looking for the books to help put back together right! It is a 16' dump/hoist, straight 6 cylinder, manual trans/split rear end. Will the parts off e-bay for a 52 pickup work on one of these trucks? Wiring and stuff???

Any ideas would be great. Thanks to all and have a great day.

Also, the only parts that will interchange between the thriftmasters (1/2, 3/4, and 1 ton) and loadmasters (1-1/2 and 2 tons) are the cab and doors. all the other body parts are different. the engine and cab appointments are the same. You would probably be better off just buying an Ebay universal harness and rewiring the truck that way. There isn't much to that loom. remember to buy some resistors to drop down the power unless you upgrade your dash gauges if you've converted from 6v to 12v. jongersbach@yahoo.com is my email. contact me w/ any questions. best of luck. show us some pictures.

Stovebolt.com is great. Learn more than you ever knew existed.

I have a 2ton that I bought and have decided to sell or part it out and get a 1 ton. If you need any parts, feel free to let me know. She is for sale locally complete. But if I don"t get it sold I"ll start parting it out.
