Along with my misfiring problems I also have an issue with the distributor being frozen in place. I cant tell if it's rust or some other "sealant" but I cant get it to turn for hell, even with the locking bolt completely removed. Any suggestion's? |

| This may sound dumb but do you have firing order correct as Y block firing order is not same as other ford engines. I run a 63 F100 with 292 for 35 years |

| Spray it with P'Blaster, Kroil or Liquid Wrench for about a week ahead of time. Get the engine good and hot, then hit the distributor with something cold like a shot from a fire extinguisher or propane. (Years ago it was freon) You need to get the area of the distributor by the block good and cold. Tap the thing with a rubber mallot and try to turn it again. If nothing works, engine disassembly may be required to remove it by pushing from the bottom side. |

| All good ideas. I think I would also consider gripping the distributor body with a strap wrench to try to turn it, after having given some time for the penetrating oil to work. If I couldn't break the distributor loose with the strap wrench, I would try a pipe wrench, however the pipe wrench would probably mar the distributor body and might even break it off. Good luck! |
