I just acquired a 1956 IH pickup froame and running gear that I plan to use in a project. It looks like 3/4 ton so I"m assuming hte gearing is high. Does anyon eknow of who may make soem lower gears? Thanks.

There is sometimes a misunderstanding with rear end gears. To me, lower gear means "lower speed", as in a higher number. Higher gear means "higher speed", as in a lower (numerically) rear end gear.

Exactly what is it you want, lower SPEED or higher SPEED?

what are you trying to do? those 50's pickups usualy ran something around 4;11's some dodges as low as 5;13's and you want a lower gear that those? those trucks were only good for about 60 or so new, if your trying to speed it up, you need to go to a higher gear like 3;73's
