I am looking at purchasing a 1947 K5 or KB5. THe guy says its a KB5 but it doesnt have the big chrome grill on it. I thought that the KB series had that. I was wondering if the KB5 series came with the non chrome grill. Also what motor would be in this truck. What are other differences between the K5 and KB5 sereis trucks |

| Hello, the K5 would be pre-WWII as the KB5 would be after WWII. The K's just had the center grill section, chrome was rare. The KB's had the center section and the little "wings" that went on the fender which extended the grill area and generaly were stainless. The KB's should have "KB" on the side as the K's did not have the K emblem. K/KB 1-5 share the same basic body except the 5 has a little different front fenders. It could have a flat head 6cyl or maybe a blue diamond as it was a larger truck, Mike |

| | Well it could be one of 2, they had a 213 and a 233 IIRC. If you like shoot me an email and I will try to send you some info about the K/KB's. Also take a look over at oldihc.org, Mike momanning@godisforyou.com |

| The engine model and cid are on boss at front LH corner of block. The 48 KB2 I had had a GRD214 engine in it. Flat head 6. |

| We had a 1947 KB-5, and it too had the mighty GRD-214. The only time you could ever get up to the speed limit, no matter what it was, was going downhill at full throttle. |
