What are the rules regarding Antique plates on a heavy duty truck? I have found my first Freightliner I ever drove sitting out in the weeds and am thinking about trying to buy and restore it. It would only be used for show and maybe haul my antique stuff to shows as well.

Kansas is weird - if it qualifies for the plate it doesn"t matter. Neighbor and I both have straight trucks with antique plates. Doesn"t matter to them that it hauls 250 bushels - no weight rating for antique here.

I have historical plates on my 1964 Emeryville, registered in Mo. Gulfway in Fla. is my insurance provider. They let me pull a trailer and haul my antique tractors.

look to the left and click on misc truck photos and do a search for 1964 Emeryville Cabover. There are 3 pics of mine. Then search International Emeryville and there is a pic of TJ George from Iowa's red and black Emeryville. Enjoy. I have not learned to do pics yey.

Not only does it depend on the state, but it depends on finding an insurance company to cover you as well. Alot of them will not cover a big truck with a fifth wheel.
