Fellas, I am looking for a 345 v8 from or for a 66-67 1000A I.H. pick-up. I am not familiar with salvage yards featuring I.H.pick-ups Would appreciate any leads. Tony

I have a good running 345 from a 78 Scout II, which should be very similar. We scraped out the Scout and would love to see it back running in another Binder. Where are you, I could send truck freight from Colorado.

Since the IH Truck factory is here in Springfield, Ohio, I have two places you might check.

Walt"s Auto Parts
Springfield, OH 937-525-0000 Since IH Trucks are popular here they may have more IH"s than others away from here.

Super Scout Specialists
Springfield, Ohio
800-325-7564

Very knowledgeable folks who sell a lot of IH Scout and Light Truck parts. They have many contacts and sources for parts.
Good luck, Bill

If there is a salvage yard near you, you might talk to them about your needs. At one time most salvage yards were connected by teletype which I would suppose has been replaced by the computer, and they could post your needs and if another yard had the part they would ship it to you. Only problem is,the operators of some salvage yards are friendly and helpful, and some, not quite as much. But it would be worth a try. Just some thoughts.
