Just noticed your post--don't get into site much---
Sanford does seem to've used Cont'ls in the 30's...
A couple catalogs I eyeballed didn't list a "Cub"; does your body ID tag have a model number?? Looks like Sanford used letters and some letter-number combinations for model #s...
I assume there's no engine tag left (Cont'l loved to put them behind things)...if so, you can take off any embossed/stamped numbers/letters you can find and email Garrad (Gerry/Jerry) Moon at Monte's Eqpmt, Chicago, obsolete Cont'l parts dealers, for an engine ID
