Half shat is usually refering to the CV axle portion. The half shaft bolts onto the axle that resides in the axle tube.

Sorry for the dumb questions. From watching you tube video is seems it is possible to change seal with out removing axle tube. Use a block of wood to get shaft to pop out , There is a spring clip that should pop if you give axle flange a good smack. You might get lucky and not have parts shift around so you can get it back together. Watch this video and the one mentioned in this video will give you a pretty good idea.
