When installed, Amp gauge does nothing. Removed it & tested it and the Gauge itself is OK. Looking at the prongs in the dash panel, we have full voltage on the right side, nothing on the left, no continuity to ground either. What should we be doing next?

This is a common problem on these trucks. What I did on mine was switch it to a voltmeter from a late 70s chevy pickup from a salvage yard.this looks factory and is a big improvement.Remove the prong from left side and run a wire to ground from the post on the guage.

Thanks Charlie. Was considering a v/meter, but did not realize one would fit the panel. Any idea where that prong on the left leads to?
