I've done it. Advantage? Few parts to buy, axles already there, springs, easy to find wheels/tires. Dis-advantage may be too high for some things, need a bigger car to pull right?
Cut the frame off at firewall of truck, not behind cab. This gives you some frame to bend in and make a tongue. You can use one of those A-frame couplers for 50* angle frame ends. YOU need to notch or cut the frame in front of box, on upper and lower edges of frame. Bang one edge up to let other pass over it and weld when coupler is on and mounted good. OR, you can figure the angles and cut out the metal there, but I have hard time figuring angle and mess that up. YOu may have to cut frame some shorter to make right angle for the coupler, trial and error fit there. Weld on some loops or use links for safety chains, and you're all set. OH, don't forget to save wires along frame to tail lights and use them on your connector!
