Re: Any Market for early 6o's torsion bar suspensiPosted by Chris Brown on May 30, 2004 at 12:47:13 from (64.91.17.32): In Reply to: Any Market for early 6o's torsion bar suspensions posted by G. L. Perry on May 29, 2004 at 23:00:58:
I have had several old 60's B series GMC's that I have scrapped out. I keep the torsion bars to build hay spikes out of. Save the two pieces that are riveted to the frame and the bars.Weld the riveted pieces onto a good chunk of 4x6 tubing, point the ends and add a 3 point, you've got a nice 2 prong hay fork that'll handle any bale you throw at it,you can also use it as a set of light pallet forks. I had one gmc I drove for 6 years or so,it came with good ball joints and I drove it till they got loose.
