Dan, your truck should be 6volt, positive ground. If you jumped it with a 12volt negative ground battery you've probably killed the voltage regulator. The carb is probably leaking from dried out gaskets, try replacing them and see if it helps. Also, check out the forum at http://merc583.addr.com/pilothouse/index.html. Pilothouse.com if the link does not work. The guys there can get you moving along pretty quickly.
