Have had problems with Holly carbs on IH V8's. It seems with age the jet blocks and carb body warp causing air/fuel leaks, making it hard to hold gasket seal in them. Have found the Motorcraft 2 bbl carbs from larger Ford V8's (size 120's or 130's marked on carb side) fit the IH intake manifold and air cleaner. Fuel lines and throttle linkage are easy to adapt. Have found these carbs to be much more reliable, especially on equipment that sets idle for months like a farm truck.
