Leave the 235 in, it's better motor than later 250 and it FITS! The later motor won't bolt up at all to your orig bellhousing, you will need one from the 250, the trans may bolt up OK, if it is older than a 67 engine. The trans went to bigger center hole in b/house after that. You will need side mounts, usually the same kit for mounting a V-8 will work, if type that has bent tube going under engine/truck and bolts to frame sides. You will also need to have a trans with tail mount for the third mount in system. Orig engines have the two on bellhouse and one in front to make their three. You might have to watch the clearance of fan/waterpump to radiator, but if a 55 or later 235 in now, someone has had to work with that already. Stick with the 235, rebuild if it needs it!
