My knowledge of the Lincoln V12 is all second hand from books I have read. They state that the Lincoln V12 was not very reliable, even in stock form. I suspect there are other weak links in the chain besides the oil pump. like most flathead engines, the breathing is not very good so they cannot make much power per CI.
I remember seeing a Custom 30's Lincoln hot rod sell at auction for a very high price because it used a modified Linciln V12 instead of a much more common modern V8. Keep in mind that this was a show quality car that was likely never driven except from the enclosed trailer to the show floor,if then.
