I think anything pre-60's is going to have what
you would consider a "small" cab. Most
pickups of that period were smaller than
fullsize trucks of today, more like Dodge
Dakota sized. In the '50s trucks started to get
larger. I don't remember which model but IH
made a big deal out of being able to sit three
men in the front seat when they got there.

Remember if you're talking about 55-65mph
with a 40-50's vintage vehicle you're going to
need to replace some pretty substatantial
subsystems like steering and brakes to be
safe with it. Those old trucks just weren't
intended to go that fast.
I'm not saying don't do it, just know what you're
getting into. I'd like to have a '60s IH 4x4 3/4ton
pickup with a modern diesel engine and
maybe that 6 speed stick the dorf pickups
use. That'd be pretty hotshot.
