Is the coil getting power while the engine is cranking? One side of ignition switch contacts could be worn. one other way to know for sure is to put 12v yo coil+ and crank over. If it starts, it is probably a faulty switch.

A friend of mine has a 83 F150 with a duraspark III ignition. toatally different. Is your timing adjustable at the distributor housing? if not, you have this odd ball ignition. Your problem is probalby a bad EEC relay. I doubt this style setup was used on big blocks though.
