98 Dodge Ram 1500 transmission problem?

I need some help, I changed the fluid in my transmission yesteday, adjusted the front and rear bands according to the manual I have. Put everying back together, put 4 qts of fluid back in it. Drives just fine. Problem is when I put it in reverse the engine dies, almost everytime I but it in reverse. Is this tied to the rear band adjustment? Or have I screwed something else up? This is a 98 ram 1500 with a V6 and automatic transmission.
