1977 Ford low oil pressurePosted by Tim Shaw on October 10, 2004 at 20:01:05 from (209.74.226.42): I have a 1977 Ford F-150 with a 351M V8. It has pretty low oil pressure at idle, about 10 psi and never over about 30 psi off idle. The engine also has a slight low end knock (I think), at speeds above 40-45 mph when it is fully warmed up. Other wise it runs pretty good, doesn't use much oil and doesn't smoke. BTW, I'm running 10W30 and I don't know the mileage on the engine. Should I try a heavier oil? I'd like your input as the what is going on with this old engine. Thanks, TS
