Does you 51 have the Granny 4 speed or the 3 speed? I think you will need the 4 speed to get thing moving on a hill. Also a custom receiver hitche will have to be installed. Then the trailer will have to have brakes, this is a must, as the original 51 brakes are weak to begin with. Lastly I would recommend a load leveling hitch as the truck would be too light on the front with out it. So yes it can tow a JD/B with the right improvements. You might also check into an aftermarket sway bar for the front, it will make a world of difference.
