Have Continental engines...need help

I'm with the Trolley Museum of New York (www.tmny.org) which has a 'doodlebug' (self propelled rail car) that was powered by a 6-572 Continental gas motor. I understand this motor was used in various large trucks and military vehicles in the WWII era. The motor quit a few years ago, and we've been kinda spinning our wheels on this project because none of the museum volunteers have experience with this vintage motor. We've actually gathered three 6-572 blocks and buckets of parts, but we need someone motivated and skilled enough to build one working engine from this....or make the determination that keeping Continental power is hopeless and repower with a Chevy small block or something.

Can anyone recommend clubs or people we can talk to in the Mid-Hudson Valley area to help?
