Thanks for the information guys. The balance question I will have to research more as I thought I read about the 1978 change of internal to external balancing at the Fordification website. Did you have to do any machining to the crankshaft to accept the correct pilot bearing or machine the pilot bearing? That was another question and did you get the spacers from wrecking yard or Ford or aftermarket in case I need extras? I got the power steering gearbox and column, all accessories except A/C, engine mounts, radiator, C6, transmission crossover, drive shafts with the deal as added insurance and to save chasing them at the boneyard. It has a Motorcraft 4 bbl I hope to use and some really cheap headers that will be replaced. The valve cover also has a 1997 date stamped on it so I might be looking at a reman. Who knows what might be lurking under all the grease. Again thanks for the help and I will have to ask more questions when I get into the actual project.
