72 Chevy Rear End ReplacmentPosted by Joe on May 06, 2002 at 12:06:55 from (166.40.0.55):
I have a 72 chevy C-10 and need to replace the rearend, not the gears but the bearings are bad,now the question is I can get a 98 chevy 1500 with a posi rearend, other than the obvious of going from springs on the 98 to coils on the 72, welding brackets to fit, is there any other reason why this wont work? I cannot find a good "used" 67-72 rear end, and it seems like new bearings on mine would cost about the same, and the posi sounds good to me, it currently is my "work and project" truck and not ready for restoration, probably will never be restored to 'factory condition" but for a daily driver btw, it is a 350 with auto if that makes a difference thanks
