#1, (and every other cylinder, for that matter), each fire EVERY OTHER TURN, so you CAN be 180 degrees off on the distributor or 360 degrees off measured at the crankshaft, and your flywheel timing marks will line up, but you'll never get it started. 180, or 360, it's all a matter of how you look at the situation, from the point of view of crankshaft position, or distributor position.
