1987 Chevy Silverado 10Posted by Frankie on February 01, 2005 at 16:31:05 from (209.210.34.157):
This truck overheats. Replaced radiator, thermostat, water pump, throttle body sensor, and map sensor. It overheats idling or driving and when it does the exhaust manifolds glow bright orange-red. A computer shows no codes. The timing was corrected after the thermostat. The throttle body gasket and thermostat gasket were replaced also. The engine would run smooth but after the engine was shut off, the antifreeze would be crap brown when originally green. The radiator was flushed and filled with green antifreeze but after repeating what made it crap brown, still makes it crap brown when filled with green again! This is confusing! Does the engine need to be rebuilt or is it the heads? (The exhaust has no restrictions) NEED INFO!!!
