1949 Jeep Wiley Truck

My father recently passed down to my seven year old son a 49 Jeep Wiley that is in failry good condition. I think it was more his wife wanted it out of the garage and he could not part with it so he gave it to my son knowing I would never sell it. I would like to restore it for my son's first vehicle when he turns 16. With a top speed of around 45 it will keep him out of trouble. I am looking for anyone else who owns one of these fine trucks to pick your brain from time to time as I go through the process.
