Answer to two six volts to 12 volt system. Can't post a reply

In series. Assuming pos ground, starter to pos on #1 bat. #1 neg to pos on #2 bat. #2 neg to ground. If neg ground system reverse the order. My JD 4020D came this way.

Couldn't reply to post so tried it this way.
