427 chevy

I posted a few weeks ago about swaping out a 6.2 diesel to a 350, but in my search for an engine i have found a 427 out of a 2 ton truck. I have been told that the 427's that came in cars and light trucks are different than those in the HD trucks. I was just wondering what the differences are and if it would be easily possible to put that 427 in a 1/2 ton chevy truck?
