Re: C60 propane conversionPosted by John McPherson on March 09, 2005 at 06:26:43 from (216.251.171.211): In Reply to: C60 propane conversion posted by Graygander on March 08, 2005 at 18:00:12: If you are looking for long term reliability, the best way to go is a new propane system. Dual fuel has some advantages, even with a leaky carb, but the system will run a bit higher in cost. Actually, if you are not proficient with repairing propane systems, it is probably best to avoid the old systems or used systems, because they likely need rebuilding. Century's that are rebuilt do work, but the Century's when they were new units had a reputation for backfiring under a load, and I do not know if rebuilders have resolved that issue. Otherwise IMPCO and a few of the old names are still in business, as well as a bunch of new ones too. Running costs will end up being about the same. Only when Propane is significantly cheaper like it is at the moment in most areas will you see a significant savings.
