68 Chev C-50 PTO

I bought a C-50 today and was wondering if the PTO from a 52 or 53 Chev 1 1/2 ton truck would work. They're both 4 speeds.
Where do you get a shop manual for a C-50?
Also, the 2 speed is very slow. It looks like vac lines going to the unit, is this a good place to start looking?
