CV joint in 76 Ford

I have a 76 Ford 3/4 ton 4WD. The joint, I think it is called a CV joint that connects the left front wheel to the axle has gone bad. Can someone instruct me on how to replace the joint with the least amount of tear-down.

I have had this pickup since buying it used in 1976. It only had 5000 miles when I bought it. It is a member of the family almost right up there with one of the kids.

Any help would be appreciated.
