48 Dodge truck firing orderPosted by CA Strick on March 17, 2005 at 12:13:52 from (68.51.213.226):
I just got a 48 dodge, was having problems getting it started and running. The person I got it from said they changed oil and plugs just before shipping to me. I checked the plugs and found them to be in the incorrect firing order per the manuel so changed them... I still have the same problem.. I have since been told that if a previous owner installed a distribuor drive gear a few teeth off or if the distributor has been rebuilt it would make the notches meaningless. Can someone tell me how to figure out the firing order and make sure I have wires connected correctly in both places??? Even if there are any other problems I need to work this out first to make sure I have the ability to start. Help will be greatly appreciated!!!!! Cheryl
