King pin removal

I saw the post having problems with king pin removal. I've removed countless king pins with a I-R chipping hammer. (large but much smaller than a jackhammer). Somebody that was excellent with a 16lb. sledge could do it but not me. Usually with out heat. I can't stress eye protection enough though!!! The pins are very hard till heated with a torch. Burp it one time to see if it moves before you heat the axle eye.
