I work for Cummins. We gave a guy a new engine for his old one out of his Dodge. It had 380,000 miles on it. We Did a teardown inspection on the engine. We remeasured ALL the components. all were still within new specs. The rings had an estimated 75% life left on them. Only failures the owner had was a fuel pump(bosch)and a power steering pump. He had ran synthetic oil in it most of its life. Engineers said engine could of easily ran another 500,000 miles. The only problem Dodge has is they need to make a glider kit so you can replace the truck around the engine...
