There is/was a special tool made for taking the trim off of the mounts, but those things change over time, and may not be available.

If behind the trim can be accessed, those pieces can be popped out of the their holes. Usually the ones on the ends had a nut on them when they were accessible, otherwise they had a sleeve that poppoed into the hole first, then the mount slipped in and locked the whole combination into place.

I know Snap on made a tool for this and Owatanna did too as OTC or MATCO
